If I could time travel it would be to meet my grand dad when he was in his teens . I only got to spent a short time of my life with him as a young child and it would be wonderful to get to know him when the world was still untraveled by him and this a place of wonderment and adventure . You see my grand dad was in the navy and fort in the second world war and like most men the war took away the wonders of this world for him as he saw too much pain and death . He was a wonderful man so quiet and kind . When I look at the photos of him when he was young he looked so full of life .

Oh wow. There are so many people in my distant and not-so-distant ancestral line that I would have loved to have met! My paternal grandfather is one of them - I was only a year old when he died, and I have no memory of him. He was a "rock hound," and hunted for geodes, crystals, agates, etc., long before anyone was interested in that kind of thing, and he managed to raise seven children with my grandmother during the 40s, 50s and 60s. How they did it on a school bus driver's salary, I'll never know! He was a simple man, and enjoyed simple pleasures. He managed to build three homes for his family (two of them burned to the ground) before his death in 1970.

Hope I get to do a page...LOL...but HAD to post an answer to this question!
I think I would have to travel through time and meet my Grandmother's Mother, Sarah Webb West. She died in childbirth (so the story goes) when my grandmother was only about 5 or 6 years old - and I can't find her anywhere (grave...death cert...) - not even a picture! Anyway - I would love to learn more about her!

I have so many memories of my dad's parents and my mom's mother. I never got to meet 2 people from my mom's side. Her father who died when my mom was young..around 10. My mom had a younger sister who died on her graduation night as a drunk driver hit her...she was 18. I would love to meet them.

I would love to meet my dad's paternal grandfather. He was killed when he was 25 in a logging train accident and I am having trouble finding out anything about his family. Also, my mother's maternal grandfather -- they found out after he died that he had changed his last name and no one living knows what it really was!!!

I would love to meet my 4th gr grandfather, WJ Owings. He was a successful business man. He owned a foundry, a woolen mill, a furniture manufacturing facility, and was also a minister. His spiritual journey led him to turn his farm into a "Christian utopia", where the church members prayed together, studied together, and worked together in Christian faith. I guess by today's standards, it would be considered a religious commune. His dream was short lived, as there were those who bickered and did not want to work together. After only two years, he succumbed to the realization that his dream of religious unity was not to be. His wealth and dreams gone..he went back to preaching in the Christian Church. I find his story fascinating and I would love to just talk to him about it and ask the hundreds of questions that I have in my mind...: )

From a history point of view it wuld have to be my maternal gr-gr-grandmother, Catherine Daily. I have done some layouts with Catherine in them and would love to know what her life was really like. From an emotional point of view....my brother (killed when he was 21)...my Dad (passed away Sept 2007) or, most of all my lovely mum (left us March 2005)
