I just want to say sorry to everyone for my mistake! I figured when I had to post my new page I should use a different remedy. I used a different remedy, but they were both to cure warts. I still really like the one with the stolen kitchen towel, even though I have no idea why you would have to steal one, it is still fun! Anyway sorry if I confused anyone.

My Grandmother used to remove warts. Ok I know this is weird, but an old indian gentleman years ago that had no children told grandma that he had to pass it on to a female, so he passed it on to her, she then was supposed to pass it on to a male.
You would count all the warts you had and then tell her and next thing you knew they were gone! I know this worked as she removed a couple from me growing up. I do not know if she passed it on before the Alzheimers took over or not, if she did I do not know to whom, would have ben to a male, but not sure if it was to one of my Uncles or not. Anyway, I have one small wart that has come up and I may have to try Kaytills remedy!!

When I was a little girl we had a nextdoor neighbor named Granny Tipton, never knew her first name. She could cure babbies of the thrash, hope I spelled this right,it is a rash in the mouth and throat. The story goes as she never saw her father, who died before she was born,Granny Tipton would blow in the baby's mouth and the next day the rash was gone. This had to work because I saw alot of baby's brougth by her house when I was a little girl.

I think this was a Mountain remedy,Granny Tipton was a very relegious lady,I often wondered if she just had faith in God,she prayed over everything,I can remember playing in the yard and hearing her pray from an open window ,always stoped and listened. She was a wonderful lady.

My mother in law, said to take a tsp of lemon juice when one has a cold and is congested and it will break the congestion, and when I had a cold it worked. I posted this in the other discussion but my dad used to feed us raw hamburger meat with onions and salt and pepper, he said it would increase our blood ( hemaglobin) and when I was a child I suffered from severe nose bleeds so not only did I get the raw eggs, I also was fed raw hamburger meat daily. Oh and cookies its thrush hehehehehe

My daughter had thrush when she was about 4 months old. It was awful, she couldn't take her bottle very good. Little tiny Blisters in her mouth. She was the first one I had ever seen with Thrush at all. I asked the Dr how she had gotten it, he said it just happens like getting a cold, some may get it some may not.

Oh cboo how fantastic, why or how some of the old remedies worked we will probably never know but isn't it great that they did. You need to documnet that in your family history. That is fantastic. Everyone needs to document the old home remedies in their family histories, after all it was a part of their lives and for most of us a part of our lives as well. So be sure and write down your stories and remedies and ingredients in your family histories!!
