I think it's okay with our voting system and there are pages I thinks is amazing and pages I just think is very good. I give different vote, mostly 10, but 5,6,7,8 and 9 I also use. I don't think it's such bad as it sounds.
We have to face there are pages that is outstanding and pages there is not. I love when I got 5 points.... it means than someone took time to see my page and give me their votes. I also love when I get 10 - of course... it's the highest score.

I haven't voted on any yet because i haven't had time, but how do you other ladies go about deciding what to vote on these pages?

I take my time and look at the page and try to notice what went into it. If something is more detailed or looks like it was time consuming or intricate, that usually gets more points from me. Then the overall look of the page (balance, color combo, photo appropriateness with the kit) is what makes me decide on 8, 9, or 10 usually.

Then sometimes, the pages aren't so detailed but just look really well laid out with everything working together and in harmony. What my husband would call "understated elegance". Those usually get higher points from me too.

Are these things taken into consideration by everyone, or am I just a little too weird? Hehehe!!!

of course you should vote according to whose are the best but I say If your not going to vote 5 or above do not vote at all it is rude! Scrapbookflair also warns that if you do more than a few votes at 3 you will get an email with a scrapbookflair violation. When they do there random checks of the site.

I am pretty new at the challenges. I too wonder how some of the pages I see get so many votes and others don't seem to get enough credit. Is it the amount of time a page has been posted? The amount of 'friends' people have voting for them? Is there a secret to winning a challenge? Is it really about winning? Aren't the more important questions 'did I enjoy creating my page?' and 'am proud of my page/work no matter how many votes I get?'

Now to the point. I say if your page gets my attention it is worth a 5. If it totally inspires me it's a 10. In a challenge setting, everyone gets my vote! Voting a 1 is just mean.

In the general voting I only vote on the 10's and try to leave a comment.

Thanks to danic and her comments on my pages for getting me to this challenge! It's only a matter of time before I want to create a kit too!
