My screen is still going black!!! Boooo!! Thought the new monitor solved the problem but today it is has happened several times. So, may need a new puter!! I can still get on to keep changing the COC on my hubby's lab top but will not be able to make any scrapbook pages, if this continues. I have some I made last night of my vacation, may try and get those posted before the dreaded black screen. Hope to get this fixed soon. Looks like I will be buying a Mac Computer. Hugs, Max

I think you forgot to plug in your pc screen! Okay I will teach you how. Plug the power cable into the back of the monitor, make sure the opposite end of the video cable is connected to the correct video port on the back of your computer & monitor connected the opposite end. Make sure the power supply adapter is connected to your electrical power bar for your electricity to power up your monitor to give it light. Oh yeah, you have to click that power button on the screen. LOL Don't forget to check your screen settings "control panel" under display icon---> display properties--->settings---> and make sure you have the right --->under display--->plug and play monitor chosen. Make sure you have the right size resolution chosen as well. Press save and reboot! If it still doesn't work follow procedures again make sure everything is well connected and under your display properties just instead of setting everything up, just click troubleshoot. It should auto. fix the problem for you. :)

Part 2: If nothing works after you'd follow these instructions, then my suggestion is take it to a pc technician to have it fixed/set up. Perhaps it needs a deeper installation that the computer/windows cannot recognize without a bit more deep manual installation. If this is something you do not want to invest in, then throw away the screen through your window & shout "crapozza!" LMAO Then go the store & buy a ACER screen...the best! I have that mark and since I got it last year I have been happy with it and has never given me problems. You have 1 year warranty with it free with the company when you purchase it. I have a 32" screen and believe me it's great HD and everything. You can get one smaller like a 17" (whatever size u like) and it will give you the best quality screen image you want. It even has options you can select "light options" for you eyes or just plain eco friendly to save energy on your electrical bill. :) It plug & plays with most desktop computers/windows versions.

Mac is good as a laptop...but if you buy a Mac desktop, most pc software will not work with Mac. I know because my daughter's has a Mac laptop and she tried to install pc software that we have for pc and it does not install. She had to purchase all the software that we have for pc just for Mac. I could imagine a desktop Mac instead of a pc...well, that's your choice. Usually the mac screen will not work with a pc computer tower. I don't think, but better to check and get your information before purchasing a MAC screen for pc. If you're buying the complete screen & tower (the bundle) then okay, but your programs/software that you have running in your pc right now will not install in your MAC. You will have to purchase all new software for your MAC operating system. Get your facts straight, I don't know much about MAC brands but I suggest to get all the information before going ahead and invest. I hope this helps. LOL

Thanks Maria for taking the time to type all of this for me!!! I have already checked all the cables and everything is plugged in right. I don't understand how two different monitors can go black. My hubby is now using my other monitor and it is working fine. There must be something wrong somewhere else. Over the weekend he is going to unplug everything again and open up the case on the desktop to see if any dust may be causing my problems. Did some research and dust could cause a black screen, so we will see. Crossing fingers it is something simple. I really do not want to switch over to a MAC just yet, knowing I will have to buy all new programs. My PC has 4TB of space, I have two hard drives 2TB each. One drive is just for my scrap-booking kits. And I have an external that hold 2TB. And switching over to a MAC, I doubt if all my kits will work either. So, hope it is something simple that can be fixed easy. Again thanks for all your info!!!! (((Hugs)))
