SuziKatz says:
I know how to add a mask to a photo, but how do you apply the mask to where it basically cuts out the center part for your background in Photoshop, PSE or Craft Artist. I've tried multiple things and all it does is mask the image rather than like some of you have done where it's on the background. Thank you!

PS...I also have Gimp and Paint.Net. I know there's a way to do this as I've done it before by accident but just can't remember how.

http://www.scrapbookflair.com/SuziKatz/Christmas_Spirit In this one, the image of the girl is not masked, it's the paper outside of it. But I figured out how to do in Craft Artist. Just don't know how to do it in Photoshop or PSE

hi Suzi, in CA what I do is, put the mask on a separate layer eg, one after your bg layer and then the layer after that your image or 2nd mask: 1st layer - the bg, 2nd layer - the mask alone, 3rd layer - your photo and/or 2nd mask. Is this more or less you wanted to know? Tersia/Toetsie, xx

Suzi I've posted a page in the challenge - I made the mask and clipped it http://www.scrapbookflair.com/Xguern66/Fantasy_Mask/page1 - is this what you are wanting to do? I used PSE11 to do this - if it's what you want let me know and I'll pm you. Joce.
