Challenge Owners Choice - part 1

My thanks to Pauline (InkyD) for giving me the honour of making the Challenge Owner’s Choice. This was a very difficult choice as every page in this challenge was clever, imaginative and best of all, fun! The fact is, these were all great pages – I was especially pleased to see Elvis made several appearances (as he is still known to do!).
That said, let me start with what I’ll call the Honorable Mentions:
Neeltje’s - Lonely Hearts Club Band - Honorable Mention for staying truest to the original Peter Blake Sgt. Pepper’s cover with lovely uniforms, funny hats, and lively animated caricatures of other SBF members.
Simsage’s - SBF FRIENDS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND - Honorable mention for putting HERSELF in with John, George and Ringo (rest of the Beatles). I’m sure Paul McCartney would be highly amused that you’ve changed not just his race, but also his gender!
Wastar’s - the Scapers Lonely Hearts Club Band – Honorable mention for the Peter Blake feel and for including so many members and transforming us all into Daisys! (1st time for me being a flower)
Micheline 1’s SBF BAND -and- ValRushtons SBF SCRAPPERS BAND - Honorable mentions for surreal pages with colorful casts of characters and wonderful blending of member’s faces.
But the Challenge Owner’s Choice goes to… savanah’s grand mawmaw’s SBF Lonely Hearts Band for including our dearly departed friend Claudia. Lavender Passion in turn makes the comment that she is playing the harp in heaven with us. I must admit, my eyes welled up when I saw this – because after all, we are one community – all drawn together by a common interest – very much a Lonely Hearts Club Band - but with our shared creativity, comments, respect, and friendships, our music can go on forever. I know that somewhere Claudia is smiling and proud to be on this page. I think someday, we’d all like to be remembered this way.

Thank you Steve for your original idea for the challenge, your support throughout and for your excellent selection of the COC. Margie's inclusion of Claudia in her superb page and the many heartfelt comments therein touched me also as I'm sure it has touched our other friends. I also find your own comments about us being one community drawn together by a common interest with the emphasis on sharing, respect, friendship and encouragement rather special and inspirational. Claudia would certainly have supported this ethic and it is a lovely, heartwarming thought to envisage her smiling from her balcony in the morning sun and feeling proud to be on Margie's page and still firmly rooted in the hearts and memory of her friends.
I was rather apprehensive at my first challenge but with your guidance and reassuring support I've survived the experience and had a thoroughly smashing, fun-filled time full of smiles. Long may our band continue to make special music!
