i know all aobut blend modes but they don't work the wy i se pages here laready uplaoded ( and i do sscrol thru all of them)

I don't know if pse is the same as ps cs5 but if it is I just add 2 mask to the photo layer then click on the first mask then open the gradient tool then on the top bar pick a black to transparent gradient and then click on the photo and drag in to where you want it to blend to you can choose what type of gradient you want eg straight, star etc. Don't know if this helps you if I can find a tutorial for it I post you the link.
