You're lucky. I have spent most of today (Thursday 18th) trying to do it with PS Elements - can't seem to crop a triangle only a square - I'm probably missing something here. can't even do it with the 'cookie cutter'

Not sure what all is in PS Elements but if you have the ability to do so, don't use a crop. Instead see if there is a way to use a cut tool instead. Crop just cuts the picture down to the square you have it set at.
