color embossing in photoshop

Duplicate image,
desaturate the duplicate( ctrl-shift-U)
set this duplicate layer to hard light
filter- stylize emboss on duplicate layer. now when you use the filter it will be in color rather than gray
if effect is too much, lower opacity or add layer mask if want one part more embossed than another( paint with black using soft low opacity brush on layer mask to remove some of embossing)
