so stressed today

I got a phonecall today from my husband. He had a doctors appointment for an accident he had last year. Hes been going to the doctor and we have run out of benefits from our car insurance back in december and the boy who hit him didnt have sufficient coverage either. Well weve been paying out of pocket for well over six months now....until today. The doctor tells him that he is going to need more x-rays and possibly an MRI or cat scan. He thinks that he may have two disks that are in the process of herniating. Totally sucks because we do not have health insurance. The coverage at his job is not sufficient and I just dont know if private insurance will cover it because he has had this condition for almost 15 months now. We are looking into insurance now but not sure how well thats going to go.

It just makes me so angry that the boy who ran the stop sign is able to walk away with no injury and no real consequences. Why shouldnt he be liable for all expences incurred from this accident not just a measly 6500 that the insurance company paid out. My husband has to live with this injury for the rest of his life. I try to look on the bright side and think that at least he is alive and its just a back injury but when I see what he goes through and I see how much it effects us financially it just isnt fair.

Our lawyer didnt bother to tell us when we signed the papers that he would not have any benefits from our own insurance available. In fact he did just the opposite he told us to not worry about expences because our insurance is liable for 80% of all medical expences. Soooo not true...we find out from the doctors office that all available coverage is depleted and we have to pay for everything.

I guess thats all...I found a doctor whos willing to to see him and do it according to our income which isnt alot but enough that it allows me to stay home with our kids and hopefully we can figure out soemthing whether it be physical therapy or massage or chiropractic care that will aleveiate the pain he has and allow him to have a more active lifestyle then he does and not have to deal with the back spasms he is having now. Im hoping and praying that will be the case.
