Instructions to Re-Upload Missing Images
Instructions to re-upload missing images
|
As you may have noticed, we had a Server failure this past week that resulted in the loss of some of our Scrapbook pages on the Scrapbook Flair Community site. We were in the process of moving to a new server to improve site performance and the new server crashed resulting in the loss of some of the pages on that server.
The good news is we expect to recover most of the images that were lost. Also, we did not lose the comments, votes, views and awards. All the data is still there even if your scrapbook page images are not showing.
The older images that are currently missing (older than the last 6 months) were all backed up and we will re-upload those images in the next few weeks. There is no need to re-upload your older images unless you want to if they are in a challenge. These images will start to reappear over the next couple of weeks.
We did however lose the pages that were uploaded in the last 6 weeks for any pages that were uploaded through the website. We did not lose the data. Your comments, views, votes & awards are still there for all of your pages. Also, the pages that were uploaded using Scrapbook Flair software were not lost. That’s why some people lost pages and others did not. If you did lose page images, you will need to re-upload any that were posted in the past 6 weeks. It is important to name the page EXACTLY the same name to retain your comments and votes. Here are the instructions to re-upload your pages:
Instructions to re-upload your pages to maintain your views and votes
1.Note the current galleries and tags. You will need to re-upload the page to the same galleries with the same tags. 2.Highlight and copy the current name of your page. ou must rename the page exactly the same. If you have any extra or missing spaces or characters it will not replace the current page - It will upload a new page]. 3.You will see a pop up that asks if you if you want to replace the current page. Choose yes. Note: If you do not see this pop up, you are not replacing the current page. You are uploading a new page. 4.Re-upload the page using the upload link on your home page or using the Scrapbook Flair software. (For some members this is only working if they use the Scrapbook Flair Software. So, you may need to use the software to re-upload.) 5.If you are using the software to re-upload your page, you can use the following options if you did not create your page with the Scrapbook Flair software. You may have to try a couple of different options to see which option gives your page the best resolution. a.Insert your page as an image b.Insert your page as an embellishment c.Insert your page as a background 6.You can use the share feature to upload the page directly from ScrapbookFlair software. 7.If you are not getting the resolution you want uploading directly from the software, you can export your page as a jpeg and use the upload link on your ScrapbookFlair home page to upload your page. This is not working for all members, so you may need to use the Scrapbook Flair software to re-upload your page. 8.You can open one project in Scrapbook Flair, insert the first image and use the share feature to re-upload the page with the exact name, tags and galleries. Then delete the first image and insert the next image and use the share feature to re-upload the next page. You can continue re-uploading all your pages in the same project rather than creating new projects for each image. 9.If your files are extremely large the resolution may not work in the Scrapbook Flair Software. You may need to reduce the file size before inserting it into the Scrapbook Flair Software.
