Poetry I Have Written
The Storm
|
I see a storm approaching in a darkened sky Leaves are being blown, I watch them go by The wind is starting to gust, I'm going inside The battle is on, as nature's elements collide I look out the window and see the trees bend I see the damage done by a super strong wind Nature is always awesome, and powerful, too Yesterday it was sunny, and the sky was blue

Who's There?
|
I hear a noise, so I look outside. Who's out there? Don't you hide. I see a shadow lurking in the dark. I hear my dog, as he begins to bark. I'm scared, my stomach is in a knot. Petrified, I can't move from my spot. I drop my cup and my coffee spills. The noise in the dark, gives me chills. It's scary outside, the sky is not blue. It has taken on a darkened, black hue. I see the shadow, in the moon's glow. Who is it? Tell me! I demand to know! Timidly, someone comes into my view. Hudson you silly ole cat, it's just you.

Bonded By Loss
|
We have bonded from the time we first met
Bonded by being as low as a person can get
We have both had a tremendous, painful loss
It is a heart breaking, and unbearable cost
You lost your daughter, and I lost my son
The pain we are carrying, is the same one
I have you to talk to and I have you to share
Knowing you understand and knowing you care

Keith Your Mother Loves You
|
You were always there when I needed someone to care. When I was alone with no one to turn to, there was you. You held me close when I needed it most. You were the one I leaned on, when everyone else was gone. When snow and ice were on the ground, you took my hand so I wouldn't fall down. You made me happy, you made me sing, you picked me flowers and weeds and things. Your little smile and wonderful ways, make me cry and leave me dazed. I want to touch you, I want to hold you, I want to say things I should have told you. My heart just aches and sometimes I think it will break. Life gave you a short time, but in my heart you are still mine. I'll see your sweet smile always, and remember your goodness all my days. You were special to the fullest degree, and you are still special to me. No one will ever take your place, or your memory erase. I can love again that's true, but no one can take the love I have for you. You were my pride and joy, my little man and my little boy, and you will always be these things to me.

He's Gone
|
Some days are really bad, and I'm very sad A sick feeling that stays, it won't go away My dear, darling child, so sweet and mild No longer does he play, he has gone away My agony started, when my sweet son departed It's so hard to get by, some days I just cry I see him in my mind, somehow he seems fine I see him laugh and run, having so much fun And I'm laughing too, I'm not sad and blue What a beautiful smile, on a beautiful child But he's not here, he's gone; so very gone

Get-A-Way
|
Sitting here with a drink in my hand, and a smile on my face, I'm filled with glee, that I've escaped the stressful, fast pace. Surrounded by sea shells, scattered about on the white sand. Feeling good that things are going the way that I had planned. Listening to the sound of happy children as I watch them play. I'm gonna sit here listening and watching, the rest of the day. I hear them laughing as they carefully mold their sand castles. I'm relaxed, laid back, and not thinking of this world's hassles. I'll be here when the sun sets, and I'll watch it with great delight. Taking in all it's colorful beauty. Here I'll stay, 'til dark of night.

The Changes of Time
|
I started out screaming and bare. All exposed with nothing to wear. Crying and kicking to get my way. I was fed and changed, everyday.
I grew and became a little girl, all fresh and new in the world. Playing games and having fun. I would laugh and I would run.
In a few years I became a teen. I was young and lively and lean. I saw life through different eyes. I started noticing, the cute guys.
I've cried tears of joy, and pain. But this fact will always remain. Life is such a wonderful treasure. I've had good, in large measure.
Some years ago I was a little baby. Today I've become a little old lady. That's okay and I really don't mind. I've had myself a pretty good time.

I began writing poetry as a child. I write about people, nature, animals, etc. I sometimes write about serious things & sometimes I write a little humor. |
