Blanche Sweet(1896-1986)entered the entertainment industry at an early age.By 1910 she had become a rival to Mary Pickford.Sweet is renowned for her energetic, independent roles, at variance with the “ideal” type of vulnerable, often fragile, femininity.She’s one of the foremost actresses of the entire silent era.She made just three talking pictures.Blanche Sweet spent the remainder of her performing career in radio and in secondary Broadway stage roles.
