In Loving Memory of "Diane"
|
Post Text |
Our first born, our pride and joy,
Quiet as a child, pretending to be coy.
Eyes that sparkle, hair glistening in the sun,
The smile of an angle, always on the run.
God gave her to us, but for a short while,
Now she is with him to be his child.
We don't know why, Short was her life,
As she was a wonderful mother and loving wife.
Three lovely children, ages fifteen, twelve and nine.
With each passing day, she is on our mind.
A marvelous daughter, older sister of two,
We miss her cards, her call and visits too.
Our hears ache as we miss her so much,
Her beautiful smile and her soft gentle touch.

June 4, 1996
This is the first poem I wrote after Diane's death, she was killed on March 16th and her birthday would have been June 19th, so I wrote this poem and put it in the local newspaper as a memorial to her.

When our daughter was killed in a car wreck in 1996, I started writing poems, a type of therapy I suppose.
Well actually I had written a few before then, but many I didn't think to keep and boy am I sorry about that now.
Any way I decided to post them here to share. |
