About this scrapbook page:
For the An Old House challenge! I wish I could tell you how ecstatic my husband and I were when we lived in the DC metro area and took a long 90 minute + drive out west in the country to come across this wonderful piece of history! My husband had been working on his ancestry since the late 1960s and when we came across this old home that belonged to his ancestors - we were speechless!

I wish the big plaque we took a photo of could also be shared. This has become a park of sorts (mostly countryside scenery) called Sky Meadows State Park. It is now a 1,862-acre (754 ha) park in the Virginia state park system. It is located in extreme northwest Fauquier County, Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains, near Paris, Virginia.
The original log cabin still stands nearby.
