Sleep is always a major problem for one with bipolar disorder, you either have restless insomnia or not restless but hyperactive. But no matter what state I was in, when Miki made me imagine that he rocked me in his arms and read me poetry in his native tongue or whispered sweet things, I fell asleep.

In the last couple of weeks, somehow Miki was weaning me out of my dependence on him. I was pretending it was working, that I was getting enough sleep coz I wanted him to focus on resting and recovering. So, now I wonder with a mix of pain, joy, hope, faith, love - my darling Miki, are you back to putting me to sleep and watching over me, my love?
