Trying to figure this out

Okay I guess I'm just an old fashioned kind of scrapbooker. So I can see the advantages of digital scrapbooking and it is alot of fun but all of my albums are 12x12, my question is, if I create this really cool page how does one print it? I mean I only have an average printer or is everyone just creating a digital scrapbook and not printing the pages? Which would work great for my daughter who is a computer geek but not my parents or my childrens God parents. Like I said I'm just trying to get this figured out. I would like to incorporate more of this into my scrapbooking because of time - but when it comes to printing them what does one do?

You could try 8x8 or even 9x9 Resize your page in your software. Image resize is probably what you are looking for in the software. You could try your print program with scale to fit and do a print preview.
As for printing try using the best paper you can afford, not shiny media.Say 120gms or better print off your page. To enhamce you could print off the photo on photo paper and depending on how you have it arranged on your layout, attatch it with double sided tape over the flat photo on the layout.
In line with this you could crop a copy of your layout where the photo is in the same size and print that to overlay, might be wasteful of photo paper though.

Another idea could be to use a photo slide program and compile it to burn to cd or dvd. I have done this and it was successful.
As a post script to previous when printing 8x8, my sister made tiny lo's 12" long and 3-4 inches wide to incorporate down the side of 8x8 printed page in a 12x12 scrapbook folder.

If you are going to give scrapbooks as gifts (digital, anyway), I would suggest saving them on cds or dvds. Otherwise, resize before printing them out.
