About this scrapbook page: |
For the An Old House challenge! I wish I could tell you how ecstatic my husband and I were when we lived in the DC metro area and took a long 90 minute + drive out west in the country to come across this wonderful piece of history! My husband had been working on his ancestry since the late 1960s and when we came across this old home that belonged to his ancestors - we were speechless!

* Pam Lefor Designs Originally built in the 1700s by John Edmonds and then sold to Isaac Settle build a larger brick house in the early 1800s) our jaw dropped as both these families were my husband's ancestors. The small middle-class plantation house was called “Mount Bleak” headed by Abner Settle Sr. There are tons of photos on the net but this IS OUR photo. 2001.

Just popping in to say I have viewed and voted for your fabulous page - sorry for the copying and pasting. My days are just too short to do everything that needs to be done. Looking forward to the winter break in a month's time when I can catch up again. xxx
